After reviewing resumes and interviewing three candidates whose names were recently submitted by the Boundary County Democratic Central Committee, County Commissioners named Glenda Poston to succeed County Clerk Diane Cartwright, who is leaving March 8 to take over as business manager of Boundary County School District 101.
Commissioners extended their thanks to candidates Dolores Sweet and Sue Larson.
“All three candidates were well known locally and had excellent qualifications,” commissioners said. “Each had strong backgrounds in our resource-based economy, and any one of the three would have done well.”
Poston worked 29 years at the former Crown Pacific Mill in Bonners Ferry before it closed last April, and has been actively involved in many community activities. She previously served on both the hospital board and the Boundary County Fair Board.
Poston will be officially sworn into office during a ceremony at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 9.
