Ezekial Hill, 20, Bonners Ferry, pled guilty to a felony charge of burglary February 6. He faces a maximum term of 10 years in prison when District Judge Steven Verby sentences him May 4.
At about 1 a.m. November 7, 2003, Hill and Aaron Brooks, a former employee of Seton’s, broke into a business and a bus on property owned by Fred Seaton near the Twin Bridges on Meadow Creek Road. In a statement, Brooks said he had been fired the day before, and he admitted to having committed the burglary in retaliation. Stolen in the theft were two laptop computers, a digital camcorder, three two-way radios, a CD burner and other miscellaneous computer and electronic gear. All the stolen items were recovered.
Prosecutor Jack Douglas stated that there have been no deals offered in the case, and said he would listen to the feelings of the victim and review the pre-sentence report before determining what punishment he’ll recommend.
“Burglaries are a serious crime,” he said, “and we certainly wish to deter that kind of conduct.”
