Minutes
Boundary County Planning and Zoning Commission
June 20, 2002
Members present: Mary Ann Luedtke, Jim Paulus, Jane Kirby, Jacob Epstein, Marc Paulson, Ed Torrence, Lon Merrifield, Donna Standley.
Members absent: Doug Reoch
Staff present: Mike Weland
1. Paulus called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and noted two errors in the May minutes. Merrifield made motion to waive reading of the May minutes and accept them as corrected, Luedtke seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
2. Paulus opened public hearing on SUP 02-03. Because there was no one in attendance, including the applicant, Paulus waived reading of procedure. All members stated they had received the application. Paulus called for discussion. Discussion was held of the location of the proposed units and regarding the letter submitted by the ITD calling for elimination of one of two entrances proposed to provide access to the building and that the entrance be upgraded to commercial standards. Because the applicant was not present to address the questions raised, Kirby made motion to table the application until next meeting to allow additional input. Torrence seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
3. Under old business, Epstein stated he did not agree with the letter mailed to Gene and Arlene Sloan regarding an administrative review held regarding the Paradise Valley Inn, stating he felt no position should have been taken on a matter that could come before the board as a special use permit application. He stated that it was his position that the commission should not state a position prior to public hearing.
4. There being no further business before the Planning and Zoning Commission, Merrifield made motion to adjourn, Kirby seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
